NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Nashville Mayor’s Office is under pressure to meet an October 1 deadline to investigate allegations of a toxic and retaliatory work environment at the Davidson County Emergency Communications Center, which handles 911 calls for the city.

The Metro Council voted Tuesday night to move forward with the investigation following concerns raised in a 2023 workplace assessment and a 2025 anonymous employee email. The 2023 report cited issues with time-off policies, inadequate training, and poor internal communication, while the anonymous email detailed additional claims of a toxic culture within the department.
