The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Mia, has officially launched a construction project for a new children’s ward at Makande Health Centre in Ngabu, Chikwawa District with the aim of reducing congestion and improve healthcare services at the hospital mostly for children.

Mia announced that the project is worthy K181.6 million and is expected to significantly reduce the shortage of treatment rooms especially for children wards once completed.

The Minister also appreciated the United Kingdom based Charity organization for its generous support which made the project possible.

Director of Health Centre, Dr. Grace Momba, stated that the health Centre is currently struggling to serve over 84,000 people who depend on its services due to limited space and resources.
