NEWBURGH – Acting Newburgh Schools Superintendent Dr. Lisa Buon has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the district, claiming that she has been the subject of ongoing age discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and a hostile work environment.
Named in the lawsuit as plaintiffs are suspended Newburgh Superintendent Jackielyn Manning Campbell, Assistant Superintendent for Exceptional Learners Chris Bayer, and former Deputy Superintendent Ed Forgit, who retired in August of last year. Buon was identified as Black West Indian in court papers, which were filed in the U.S District Court, Southern District.
Buon, who is representing herself in the lawsuit, declined to comment on Wednesday. In her suit, the superintendent alleges, among other things, that she has faced multiple acts o
