Davenport doctor, a former Genesis executive, charged with sexually abusing children

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport doctor and former Genesis executive has been charged with touching young girls.

Police say Dr. Anthony J. Carbone , 65, groped the victims on several occasions in 2023. They were 8 and 14.

Carbone was the chief medical information officer at Genesis up until a month after the alleged abuse took place. According to a spokesman for MercyOne Genesis, Carbone was not treating patients while employed by the healthcare system from June 2016 until March 2023.

It’s not the first time Carbone has been accused of wrongdoing with a child.

Carbone was the subject of a news story in the Kyiv Post in 2006 when he worked for a medical clinic in Ukraine. According to that report, Carbone had been investigated by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medici
