(Seguin) — The Seguin River Monsters fell to 0-2 on the young Texas Collegiate League season with a 9-1 loss at home to the Victoria Generals on Wednesday night at Smokey Joe Williams Field.

The Monsters took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st when Micah Kendrick doubled with two outs to drive home Canyon High School grad Austin Stracener. Kendrick, who had two hits on Tuesday night, is batting .429 early in the season.

The defending league champion Generals scored single runs in the 3rd and 4th innings to take over the lead. Victoria blew the game open with seven runs in the final three innings.

The River Monsters will head to Lafayette, Louisiana to take on the Acadiana Cane Cutters today and tomorrow. The Monsters will be back in Seguin on Saturday and Sunday to face the Bato
