LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)-- A 10-year-old and a seven-year-old were hospitalized after their pony-drawn cart struck a tractor-trailer in Lancaster County on Wednesday.

Pennsylvania State Police said troopers investigated the crash, which occurred at 9:17 p.m. on June 6 in the area of Spring Garden Road in Salisbury Township. Police said two children were hospitalized in the accident.

Police said the cart was traveling east on Philadelphia Pike when the pony became startled by a tractor-trailer heading east behind them. The pony turned into the tractor-trailer as it was passing.

The 10-year-old driver of the cart was transported to a local hospital by White Horse EMS with minor injuries, and the seven-year-old was transported to the Hershey Medical Center with suspected serious injuri
