BERLIN (WJW) — Nine people were injured Wednesday when a Ryanair flight from Berlin to Milan encountered severe turbulence, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing in southern Germany.

The incident occurred on June 4 as the flight was en route to Milan Bergamo Airport, according to local media reports. The plane diverted and landed safely at Allgäu Airport in Memmingen.

Ryanair confirmed that eight passengers and one crew member were injured during the flight.
