RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Another Raleigh favorite announced its departure from a location as signature as their food.
Clyde Cooper's Barbeque told CBS 17 on Wednesday that they have sold their building on South Wilmington Street and will move to a new location.
A co-owner of the barbecue joint said the building was sold to Hibachi 88, a popular casual Japanese restaurant with multiple locations throughout the Triangle — adding 320 South Wilmington Street with this sale.
According to the real estate company in charge of Clyde Cooper's Barbeque, the building sold for $2.24 million.
The restaurant spent more than a decade on South Wilmington Street. Their original location was on East Davie Street, where founder Cylde Cooper began the business around 1938.
