A busy Kent train line is due to shut for more than a week later this year to allow for important improvement works to be completed. Network Rail has announced the line between Redhill and Tonbridge will once again be closing to allow for an embankment to be strengthened and the line upgraded.
Due to close for a total of nine days, works will take place from Saturday, August 16 until Monday, August 25. Throughout this time, buses will replace trains between the two stations and passengers have been urged to “plan their journeys ahead of time and leave more time to travel”.
