WEST FORK, Ark. — The horse campground at Devil's Den State Park in West Fork has reopened, much to the delight of equestrians eager to return after upgrades to the facilities.
Community members and equestrian enthusiasts gathered at the campground Wednesday to celebrate the reopening.
Jay Schneider, superintendent for Devil's Den State Park, said the campground is closely linked with the park's eight miles of horse trails, and the recent upgrades promise an enhanced experience.
"There's 24 sites. They have water, they have electric, 20-, 30-, and 50-amp service. And there's a full-service bathhouse and also that beautiful pavilion," Schneider said.
The park, which has been around for more than 50 years, underwent improvements to meet modern standards.
