SALT LAKE CITY – Officials issued a flash flood warning for southern Utah Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City issued the warning for Garfield County and urged caution for those recreating outdoors Wednesday and Thursday.
The NWSSLC posted to X and stated that areas near Capitol Reef National Park should be on high alert due to brewing summer storms.
Along with Capitol Reef National Park, the NWSSLC listed Zion National Park and Snow Canyon State Park as having probable chances of flooding.
The Sand Flats Recreation Area said in a Facebook post that water was expected to be near Moab by 4 p.m. and said, “If in the area, get to higher ground.”
