WEST PORTSMOUTH, OH — Scioto County authorities are investigating a break-in at a Dollar General after an early morning burglary on Sunday, June 1.

According to Sheriff David Thoroughman, the 911 center received a call at 6:59 a.m. from an employee of the store, located at 16 Brouse Run. The employee reported arriving at work and discovering the front door glass shattered.

Deputies and detectives responded to the scene and found a trail of blood, along with women’s undergarments, panties and bras, leading away from the store.
