CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man has been charged with a shooting on a CTA bus that left two people injured on the city's Northwest Side in April.

William Soto faces two felony counts of attemped first-degree murder. He was arrested on Wednesday after being identified as the offender in connection to the shooting.

According to police, a 40-year-old man was involved in a verbal altercation with Soto and another man on a bus in the 4800 block of West Belmont on April 27.

Police said Soto produced a handgun and fired several shots at the 40-year-old man. The man was shot in the abdomen and leg. He was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition.

A 22-year-old man sustained a graze wound to the ankle. He was transported to Community First in good condition.
