OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Glover Cary Bridge, commonly known as the “Big Blue” bridge, which connects downtown Owensboro, Kentucky, to southern Indiana across the Ohio River, will undergo significant repairs this summer.
These repairs will include a temporary, multi-month full closure beginning in July.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the closure, stating the project’s aim is to maintain the bridge’s vital service by replacing the bridge deck and making concrete repairs.
Preliminary work will commence with single lane closures on June 9, 10, and 11, during which one lane will remain open.
