Former Lake County Sheriff John Buncich, who is serving time for a federal bribery offense, has been moved to a Chicago-area residential re-entry facility, records show.

The 79-year-old was moved from a medical center in Missouri to RRM Chicago, located in the western suburb of Downers Grove, according to an online inmate locater maintained by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

It is not immediately clear what the move means for Buncich, as RRM field offices provide home confinement, long-term boarding and residential re-entry services.

Buncich is still listed with a projected release date of Oct. 5, 2027.
