Mother claims Mississippi woman was shot to death by her ex

HERNANDO, Miss. -- The mother of a Hernando woman who was found dead in her home claims her daughter was killed by her ex-fiancé.

Kasey Rowley, 28, was shot to death in a Hernando, Mississippi, house on May 16.

Hernando officers responded at 10:30 p.m. for a welfare check call on Magnolia Ridge. They found Rowley’s body with gunshot wounds in a back bedroom, and she was pronounced dead on the scene.

“My daughter was murdered, and she was murdered by her fiancé," said Mary Rowley, mother of Kasey Rowley.

Police have not confirmed that information.

The DeSoto County Sheriff's Office told WREG the man shot himself to death in a nearby boat ramp on May 15 at 6:30 p.m., hours before Kasey was found dead.
