More than 66,000 people have signed a petition calling for people over the age of 60 to be granted free bus travel.

The Department for Transport has been urged to give travellers in England the same help as those in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

A petition on the parliament website has been growing in support with 66,000 people calling for a change.

But in England, it is up to each local authority and so only takes place in a few locations including London and Merseyside, LancsLive reports.
