SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - People planning to explore downtown Savannah by ferry will soon see two new waterjet hybrid vessels on the waterways.

The Chatham Area Transit Authority said the new ferries, Juliette Gordon Low II and Susie King Taylor II, align with their mission to provide safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation solutions.

The state-of-the-art ferries have BAE Systems’ advanced electric propulsion system that will provide a smoother, more environmentally sustainable ride, according to CAT.
