After a seven-month hiatus, Lionel Messi has been called up to Argentina‘s national team as La Albiceleste prepare to take on Chile and Colombia in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. On Wednesday, however, Scaloni revealed that Messi was questionable for Thursday’s game in Chile.

“We haven’t decided yet if he will start in the match or not. I need to talk to him to understand his physical condition,” Scaloni said about Messi’s status for the match in a press conference on Wednesday.

“Today, we are in a position to try different things. Initially, he is ready to play, and we’ll see after that. He is coming off a good match, and we’ll make a decision soon,” the Argentina‘s head coach explained.
