Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield, part of a bipartisan coalition of states, confirmed yesterday that Oregon could expect up to $66 million of the $7.4 billion national settlement reached with the Sackler family and Purdue Pharma for their role in fueling the national opioid crisis.
Sackler Family and Purdue Pharma Lawsuit Settlement
In addition to almost $645 million in settlements Oregon has recovered since July 2021 in national lawsuits against several pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and retailers for their role in the opioid crisis, the $66 million payable by the Sackler family is payable under the settlement from the up to $6.5 billion the Sacklers will pay and up to $900 million payable by their company, Purdue Pharma, L.P.,
