Malawi’s beloved female artist Lady Aika has finally responded to fans who have been wondering why she hasn’t collaborated with other artists yet.

In a heartfelt message shared on her official Facebook page today, Aika wrote:

“Most people usually ask why I have never done a collabo so far… it’s hard to answer, but the thing is in Malawi, there are a lot of artists I like and it would be a dream come true to work with them.

But to be honest, when you’re just starting out in music, it’s hard to convince big established artists to collaborate with you, especially when you don’t have money.

So you have to work on your own until you prove your worth and talent and that’s what I’ve been doing over the past year.”
