Technically, USF is embarking on a search for a new vice president for athletics, but for the sake of brevity and blunt reality we’re condensing that title to one word.

Fundraiser.

In this highly discombobulated era of college athletics, where revenue sharing looms and name, image and likeness keeps evolving, the ability to solicit donations from boosters of every tax bracket has become the dominant prerequisite for any aspiring athletic director. Some will argue the ability to identify and hire quality coaches is paramount, and it is, but that correlates to fundraising: Bring in winning coaches, and you bring in bucks.

So who’s best suited for the AD job at USF vacated by Michael Kelly ? We’ve listed some prospects here, in alphabetical order.
