AUSTIN (ABJ) — Georgetown will soon be home to one of the top barbecue joints in Texas — Schoepf’s BBQ.
The 32-year-old Belton barbecue restaurant is opening a second location at 820 S. Austin Ave. on Georgetown Square, according to Ronnie Schoepf, who co-owns the business with his wife, Staci Schoepf. The restaurant will ideally open in the early fall, he said, although plans are fluid.
Schoepf’s BBQ has made it onto Texas Monthly’s prestigious Top 50 BBQ Joint list three times — 1997, 2003 and 2008 — and this year it's on the magazine's Honorable Mentions list alongside other popular joints such as Kreuz Market, Brotherton’s Black Iron Barbecue, Micklethwait Barbecue and Terry Black’s Barbecue. The restaurant has also been featured in the Houston Chronicle Top 25, in addition to other
