WENATCHEE, Wash. (KING) – The mom of the three young girls who were found murdered in Washington state said she believes their deaths were a result of multiple system failures.
The Wenatchee Police Department said 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 5-year-old Olivia Decker were found dead near the Rock Island Campground on Monday.
Officials believe they were killed by their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, during a planned visitation. Police are still looking for him.
They likely died from asphyxiation, according to court documents.
Arianna Cozart, attorney for the girls’ mother Whitney Decker, said Travis Decker’s access to his kids was cut to every other weekend following a custody hearing nine months ago.
