OKLAHOMA CITY — Reese Atwood waited nearly four games to get her first hit in the Women’s College World Series .

No worries because her Texas Longhorns have waited their entire history to win a national championship.

And now they’re one win away thanks to their best player.

What appeared to be a smart softball decision by Texas Tech coach Gerry Glasco turned into a OKC nightmare when Atwood delivered a two-run single to help deliver a 2-1 win the championship series opener of a best-of-three .
