Iowa Democrat Scott Brennan will no longer serve on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, which oversees the presidential nominating calendar.

New Hampshire, which bucked the DNC's wishes and held an unsanctioned primary in 2024, gained a seat on the committee.

Brennan left the door open to holding a rogue caucus in 2028 in the model of New Hampshire.

First, Iowa lost its first-in-the-nation caucus status. Now, it has lost its longtime seat on the influential panel of the Democratic National Committee that oversees the presidential nominating calendar.

But New Hampshire, which defied the Democratic Party's calendar by holding an unsanctioned presidential primary, has been awarded a second seat on the powerful committee.
