WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Watertown city council member Cliff Olney lost another bid Thursday to be on the June 24 primary ballot.
Olney had asked state Supreme Court judge James McClusky to reconsider a ruling that kept Olney off the ballot due to issues with his nominating petitions.
The judge dismissed Olney’s motion Thursday morning, ruling from the bench.
We reached out to Olney for comment. He has said that if he is not on the ballot - and indeed, the printed ballots for city council do not include him - he’ll run as a write-in candidate.
In Thursday’s motion, Olney was asking McClusky to revisit a decision the judge made in May. At the time, McClusky ruled that Olney had enough signatures on his nominating petitions to be on the ballot - the Jefferson County Board of Election
