SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested at least 15 people, including children, in San Francisco on Wednesday, according to SF Supervisor Jackie Fielder.
The arrests occurred when immigrants lacking permanent legal status showed up for court check-in appointments, Fielder said. Several children were reportedly taken into custody, including a 3-year-old. Fielder, citing the Rapid Response Network, said this group of people could be deported as soon as Thursday.
The arrests come amid ramped-up immigration enforcement across the country, a campaign promise from President Donald Trump.
