OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine is expected to share his decision about whether any charges will be filed against a deputy involved in a shooting that left a 19-year-old Janidi Ibrahim dead.

Per Nebraska law about in-custody deaths, a grand jury will also review the case.

Sheriff Aaron Hanson is also planning to have a news conference at 2 p.m. Thursday. The sheriff’s office has said they would “provide the public with a more comprehensive explanation” of the events that led to the Ibrahim’s death once Kleine had determined the merits of the case.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office turned the evidence in the investigation of the May 22 shooting death over to Kleine’s office on Monday.
