It was a very close decision, but in the end, Lake Highland Prep midfielder Savannah Love is the Sentinel’s Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year , by a narrow margin over Lake Mary’s Mikala Thomas.

Love was the glue that held everything together for the Class 1A state champions . She scored 44 goals and had 81 draw controls and 22 ground balls. LHP coach Chris Robinson said her leadership was key.

“She did a lot of the dirty work for us, all over the entire field,” Robinson said. “She makes everything look effortless and was a leader for us on the draw control. She was just so consistent for us all year and was really our MVP.”
