More than 4,300 Guilford County students received $24 million from the state to attend private schools, according to information from the state released earlier this week.
Thirty-one private schools received vouchers, known as Opportunity Scholarships in North Carolina. This is the first year that there were no income requirements for students.
Of those 31 schools, Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point received $3.3 million, among the highest distributions in the state.
