More than 4,300 Guilford County students received $24 million from the state to attend private schools, according to information from the state released earlier this week.

Thirty-one private schools received vouchers, known as Opportunity Scholarships in North Carolina. This is the first year that there were no income requirements for students.

Of those 31 schools, Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point received $3.3 million, among the highest distributions in the state.

Here are the top 10 recipients of Opportunity Scholarships in Guilford County according to the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority:

2. High Point Christian Academy, $3 million

3. Greensboro Islamic Academy, $1.7 million

4. Caldwell Academy, $1.6
