A cinematic alignment of the stars is shining at Belcourt Theatre – a milestone month where the lights, cameras and action have been burning on and offscreen for the last century.
The nonprofit independent movie house located in Hillsboro Village has launched a yearlong celebration of its 100th anniversary with a retrospective series of the films of legendary director Robert Altman, who would have turned 100 this year.
Kicking off the star-powered Belcourt100 party last Sunday was a sold-out 50th anniversary screening of Altman’s iconic “Nashville,” followed by a Q&A session with star Keith Carradine, who won an Academy Award for Best Original Song with “I’m Easy,” a tune he wrote.
