Hear that sound, Nintendo fans? It’s the wahoo! heard around the world. Today, June 5, is the Nintendo Switch 2 ’s launch day. The latest video game console from the house of Mario and friends is finally here after months of speculation and anticipation. Nintendo, of course, hopes to follow up its most successful home console in company history with a proper sequel.
When I got my hands on the device in April for an official in-person preview, it was almost immediately clear that the Nintendo Switch 2 was a worthy successor. In fact, so many of Switch 2’s best upgrades were so long overdue, that it felt like the new console was the all-in-one gaming machine that Nintendo should've released eight years ago when the original Nintendo Switch hit the shelves.
