Donald Trump has said he is “very disappointed” by Elon Musk’s criticism of his so-called “big, beautiful” tax and spending bill.
Mr Musk, who left the White House last week, launched a blistering attack on the bill in recent days, labelling it the “Debt Slavery Bill” because it would add to the deficit at a time when he was trying to trim government spending.
Speaking from the Oval Office alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Mr Trump said he had a “great relationship” with Mr Musk but said “I don’t know if we will any more”.
Mr Trump went on to say he was “surprised” by Mr Musk’s criticism after he was given a “wonderful send off” at the White House last week.
