A chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms for Ventura and L.A. County mountains will linger Thursday before temperatures warm up over the next few days.
The National Weather Service says there's between a 5% and 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms for higher elevations, especially around the eastern San Gabriel Mountains. That means a possibility of short but heavy periods of downpours. Dry lightning and gusty winds could also occur.
Temperature wise, we're looking at a slightly warmer day as conditions warm up for the next few days.
For L.A. County beaches, daytime highs will be around 72 degrees, and for valley communities, temperatures will range from 75 to 82 degrees.
