At least 2,000 gallons of oil spilled into Baltimore Harbor on Wednesday (June 4), prompting a major cleanup effort involving multiple agencies. The spill, which originated in Harbor East, was first reported by Johns Hopkins Hospital as a 200-gallon diesel spill at their East Baltimore facility. However, it quickly escalated to 2,000 gallons, spreading to a marina area approximately 100 yards by 250 yards.
