Two journalists are leaving Albany’s ABC affiliate WTEN .
Anchor Trishan Begam said she will leave the station in July, while MMJ Ireland Walker has already said her goodbyes.
In a long post on the station’s website, Begam told viewers she is leaving in July and will “step away” from local TV to spend more time with family.
“This July, I have decided to step away from a career I have loved so deeply since college.,” she wrote. “I’ve spent more than 16 years growing as a journalist, nearly 13 of those have been at NEWS10, my home away from home.”
She started working at the station in 2012.
Walker joined WTEN last May, fresh out of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she majored in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and minored in Political S
