ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) -- In Alden, Saturday nights come alive with rodeo action, cowboy boots, and cheers all around.

The weekly rodeo is hosted by Alden Community Church, but the thrills come courtesy of Cross Over the Line, a professional rodeo company blending high-stakes competition with messages of faith and family.

“This sport is so dangerous that without God, I don’t see how anybody could do it,” said Louis Backlas, owner and producer of Cross Over the Line Rodeo Company. “You could die in this sport, on the arena floor, at any given moment. It’s a dangerous sport but when you’ve got God on your side, all things are possible.”

While the bulls may be intense, the atmosphere is anything but. Organizers say it’s all about building a space where kids and parents can have fun together.
