BENTON, Mo. (WSIL) -- One person is dead after a single vehicle crash in southeast Missouri on Wednesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened on June 4, at 6:45 p.m., along County Road 333, roughly three miles east of Benton in Scott County.
State police said a 79-year-old man was driving a 2018 Ford Escape when the vehicle traveled off the road, hit an embankment and flipped over. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
This was reported as the 25th death related to a traffic crash in the MSHP Troop E area in southeast Missouri for 2025.
