How badly do you want the Nintendo Switch 2? Some people were lining up outside stores at midnight to get a chance to buy the coveted gaming consoles, which sold out in April pre-sales within hours.

Video and photos captured crowds gathered outside stores on Wednesday night, with lines wrapping around retailers as gamers camped outside for hours to get a chance to purchase the Switch 2, Nintendo's latest console, during the midnight release. The long-awaited gaming console is so popular that pre-orders sold out within two hours at Target, according to a statement from the retailer.

The Switch 2 resembles the original Switch, which was released in 2017, but it's larger, features a different color scheme and includes numerous upgrades.

The console is available in stores only on Thursday, while supplies last.

Where can you buy the Switch 2?

Target announced it would begin selling the Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, June 5th.

Target is selling the popular console in stores only starting on Thursday, according to the press release. It is priced at $499.99, excluding taxes.

The retailer will begin selling the console online the following day, Friday, June 6.

Best Buy and Walmart will also be selling the console in stores on Thursday.

Mario Kart bundle

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, which includes a Digital Download Code for Mario Kart World, will also be available in stores for purchase on Thursday.
