Singer Jessie J weighed whether or not to go public with her diagnosis, but in the end, she says she’s a “sharer.”

The English pop star, born Jessica Ellen Cornish, shared with fans that she had been diagnosed with early breast cancer and planned to undergo surgery.

“I’m highlighting the word ‘early,’” she said in a video posted to social media Wednesday. “Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word ‘early.’”
