JACKSONVILLE, Arkansas — The Jacksonville Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of an incident that happened at an ammunition facility in Jacksonville on Thursday.
According to a spokesperson with the City of Jacksonville, an explosion happened at the Sig Sauer facility on the morning of June 5.
They confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities as a result of the explosion, and no criminal activity is suspected.
Earlier in the day, Jacksonville police issued a traffic alert for drivers to avoid the areas of Swift Drive, Marshall Road, General Samuels Road, and Commerce Drive. However, those roads have since reopened.
The Jacksonville Fire Department will continue its investigation into the incident.
