Patrick Copen was promoted to Double-A this week and will make his Tulsa debut on Friday, but his parting gift was winning Midwest League player of the month. The right-hander had a 1.59 ERA in five starts, with 44 strikeouts (a 40.4-percent rate) and 11 walks in 28⅓ innings.
Copen allowed five total runs in his five starts, and had starts of 12, 11, and 10 strikeouts .
