Ansonia police said they have arrested a woman after a 3-year-old child suffered an arm injury at Mead School and needed surgery.

Police said the incident happened on March 25 and the officer who investigated determined that it was not accidental after seeing video.

Mary Durso-Smith, 32, of New Haven, was arrested on Tuesday and she was charged with risk of injury and assault in the second degree.

Police said she was released on a $50,000 bond and will be arraigned at Derby Court on Thursday.
