Metal panels flew off a truck and hit a car on the highway in Burlington Thursday morning, causing delays during the morning commute.
The crash happened between a car and a tractor-trailer at 6:30 a.m. on Interstate 95, according to state police. Debris caused both the northbound and southbound sides of the highway to close by exit 50, MassDOT said.
One person in the car was seriously hurt and was brought to Lahey Hospital, according to police.
The crash also involved metal panels flying off a truck and into another vehicle, crushing the car, according to reports from WCVB . The panels landed in the breakdown lane on the southbound side of the highway, police said.
