It came down to a close vote among Orlando-area lacrosse coaches, but in the end, Bishop Moore’s Teddy Kachris won out over three other top players for the Sentinel’s Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year .

Also in the running were Lake Mary seniors Jack Lorenz and Luke Shale, and Kachris’ own teammate, standout freshman Charlie Smith.

Kachris was the leader of a team that could have arguably been called the best in the area. Bishop Moore (20-4) lost twice to the state’s No. 1-ranked team the Benjamin School of Palm Beach Gardens, which knocked the Hornets out of the state tournament .

That final loss, Kachris said, was the only disappointment in his Bishop Moore career.
