ATLANTA — Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas has called out a heckler from a recent race in Philadelphia, characterizing the disturbing encounter as "harassment and hate speech on my family."
Meanwhile FanDuel has permanently banned the bettor, who bragged about the heckling online, saying it “condemns in the strongest terms abusive behavior directed towards athletes.”
Thomas, who grew up in Atlanta and spoke with 11Alive about her Olympic journey in 2024, called the incident “gross” and shared that the man followed her while she signed autographs for kids.
“This grown man followed me around the track… shouting personal insults,” Thomas wrote on X. “Anybody who enables him online is gross.”
