COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced Wednesday the return of Get Outdoors Day. The free event will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Park on the northwest corner of Prospect Lake.

Officials say the goal is to connect the community with outdoor recreation opportunities in the Pikes Peak region.

Attendees of all ages can participate in hands-on activities, including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, archery, rock climbing and more. The event also offers educational experiences on trail maintenance, conservation and the Leave No Trace principles.

Officials say the event also coincides with “Free Fishing Weekend”, where people of any age can fish without a fishing license.
