DENVER (KDVR) — Many people have heard about fly fishing, but have you ever heard about free fishing?

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hosting a Free Fishing Weekend starting on June 7 and ending on June 8.

CPW said that any resident or nonresident of all ages is invited to participate. Fishing licenses and Habitat Stamp requirements are waived during the event without any fees needing to be paid, making it a "truly inclusive event."

Colorado offers over 35 species of fish to hook in both warm and cold waters, and fishers can enjoy Colorado's breathtaking landscapes while they wait for a bite. Fishing can take place in any of the 6,000 miles of streams, or in the over 1,300 lakes and reservoirs the state has to offer.

To find your ideal fishing location, use the CPW fishing map.
