Raleigh-Durham International Airport launched Thursday the first nonstop schedule to Vancouver International Airport with service by Air Canada on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays through Sept. 30.
It represents the first nonstop schedule from the Raleigh airport to the West Coast of Canada.
“This new gateway will make travel from the Triangle to western Canada, Japan, Korea and other destinations in Asia more convenient," said Michael Landguth, president and chief of Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.
The flights will take place on Boeing 737 MAX with 16 business seats and 153 economy seats. Travel time from RDU to Vancouver is estimated at five hours and 20 minutes.
